Были проблемы с хостингом, в результате которых хостер намекнул мне, что виртуальный хостинг не тянет нагрузку моего сайта, и мне нужно переходить на выделенный сервер. В результате пришлось перейти, что резко (в разы) увеличило абонентскую плату за хостинг. Плюс я теперь плачу за превышение соотношений трафика. Говоря другими словами, расходы на сайт превысили ту разумную сумму, которую я готов был платить за его содержание. В сложившейся ситуации я вижу три выхода:
1. Закрыть сайт
2. Сделать его закрытым и платным
3. Увеличить количество рекламы, в частности, добавить всплывающие окна (pop-up), от которых я раньше отказывался, поскольку они меня самого раздражают.

В комментариях прошу высказаться на тему того, какой из выходов кажется читателям наиболее приемлемым.

    Ну мы все взрослые люди и понимаем, что бесплатно ничего не бывает. Поэтому если сайт бесплатный, то окупиться он может только за счет рекламы. А раз так, то просто вешайте рекламы столько сколько надо, мы переживем. Главное чтобы сайт работал!
    p.s. Как правильно заметил soundtrack_lover рекламы на сайте и так было мало по сравнению с другими сайтами, поэтому остается только удивляться вашей скромности и тому, как сайт существовал до сего дня :)
